Some updates on aforementioned shows:
The Rhonda Schaller Studio exhibition, Who Wants to be a Feminist? opened yesterday, January 26, 2008. My portrait, Playful (from the Cosmetic Appeal series), is included in the online curated project. You can see it and other fascinating pieces relating to feminist thought/feminist movement in Projects Room Gallery 1.
Also, Self Evident: Contemporary American Self-Portraiture, will open at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky on January 30, 2008. Another portrait from my Cosmetic Appeal series, Alluring, will be on display alongside works by 44 other incredible artists (including a former Virginia Tech professor of mine, Yonsenia White!- pictured below, bottom right with yellow dog bone:)). I will be attending the closing reception on February 20. I will likely make the round trip from Blacksburg, as I did when delivering the portrait. If anyone is interested in attending, please let me know! I would love (and appreciate) the company!
